Curse you Blizzard!
August 9th, 2008Jsut when I managed to write my 1st real post about talents, guess what! They reworked on all of em, so now I am typing down the new talents and discussing about em with others. And meh, still no own beta key for me ![]()
Freeze!
August 8th, 2008I am about to start venture tanking with death knight, so next post will be most likely about frost tree, thus far I've done one instance and were tanking it with Blood spec, my DPS was quite nice, didn't really have that many problems before last boss of Utgarde Keep, boss hits like truck and lack of armor and health became lil problem for me, so let's see what is about to happen in future.
But yeah, tanking with Deathknigt is a lot of fun. You can keep agro quite easily, if you lose it there is 2 different ways to 'taunt' Death Grip being lil bit funnier of these 2! Oh yeah, nerf retri pallies!
Bloody hell!
August 5th, 2008Yes as title may hint, I am about to write about blood spec, I've played only with that spec and currently it is way overpowered to be fun to be honest. First damage you do is up to par or more than other classes and you heal your self (and party) like no tomorrow... I have eat to regen health 4times thus far and I've died 3 or 4times cause I've got overconfident and pulled more than I really were able to handle *grin*. But yes, blood tree yells huge changes, hopefully toward better (nerf that healing!).
And now to topic it self.
So what is blood all about? It is all about HUGE weapons, self healing and parrying (and to some extent deflecting magical damage). It is at given moment THE spec for leveling, as I said in that some sort of 'prologue' I have only died because of my own cockiness. So what we have in blood tree, let's break em down tier by tier.
Tier 1 talents:
Butchery 2 ranks - Whenever you kill target that grants experience or honor, you generate up to 10 runicpower (per rank). In addition you generate 1runic power (per rank) per 3sec, while in combat.
So yes it pretty much is self explaining so nothing more about that.
Bladed Armor 5 ranks - You gain 5 attack power (per rank) for every 1000 points of your armor value.
Quite self explaining, don't you think? At moment it doesn't seem to stack with armor bonus from frost presence, I don't know if that is or isn't intended though. I am yet to find out if Toughness talent form frost tree affects this one.
Improved Blood Strike 3 ranks - Increases the bonus damage your Blood Strikes cause to diseased targets by 30% (per rank).
Yet again one nice talent, that in my opinion shouldn't be this low. Yet again for me this seems quite self explaining talent.
Tier 2 talents:
Subversion 3 ranks - Increases the critical strike chance of Blood Strike, Pestilence and Obliterate by 1% (per rank) and reduces threat generated in Blood or Unholy Presence by 8% (per rank).
Atleast one talent that is in place! And yes as you can see, you gain a bit better crit rate with certain abilities (main ones for blood) and nice threat reduction in non tanking stances.
Forceful Deflection 5 ranks - Increases your parry rating by 5 (per rank) plus 5% (per rank) of your total Strength.
Ah how lovely little talent, at moment it seems to be quite fine but don't know what will it be in higher levels, we will see...
Tier 3 talents:
Rune Tap 1 rank - Converts 1 Blood Rune into 10% of your maximum health.
Instantly giving you 10% of your maximum health and has 1minute cooldown. Aka nice little "Oh crap potions in cooldown!" button for us.
Dark Conviction 5ranks - Increases your chances to get critical strike with melee weapons by 1% (per rank).
Yup there is your +5% crit talent.
Death Rune Mastery 3 ranks - Whenever a rune activates, it has 4% (per rank) chance of converting into a Death Rune. This rune counts as Blood, Unholy or Frost Rune. Lasts 20sec.
Tier 4 talents
Improved Rune Tap 3 ranks - Increases the health provided by Rune Tap by 15% (per rank). (requires Rune Tap talent)
Yet again self explaining talent.
Spell Deflection 3 ranks - You have chance equal to your Parry chance of taking 10% (per rank) less damage from direct damage spell. (requires Forceful Deflection talent)
Can you spell overpowered? Seems like PvP toy and quite powerful one even, I am yet to try this one while leveling.
Vendetta 2 ranks - Heals you for up to 2% (per rank) of your maximum health whenever you kill target that yields experience or honor.
Quite nice little talent we have there, it's actually really useful even if it sounds like it ain't much it is. This is one of those talents that should be left as it is, or at max give it one percent more healing.
Tier 5 talents:
Scent of Blood - 3 ranks. You have a 25% chance after being struck by a ranged or melee hit to gain the Scent of Blood effect, causing your next 2 (per rank) melee hits to steal life from the enemy. Lasts for 20sec. This effect cannot occur more often than once every 20 sec.
Yet more self healing, don't we just love it?
Veteran of the Third War 3 ranks. Increases your total Strength by 2% (per rank) and your total Stamina by 1% (per rank).
Yup, strength aka parry, stamina more health! (even if it ain't that much).
Mark of Blood - 1 rank. 1 Blood 1 Unholy. Instant. 3min CD. Place a Mark of Blood on an enemy. Whenever the markes enemy deals damage to a target, that target is healed for 2% of its maximum health. Lasts 30 sec.
Yup even more self healing! Got to love blood <3
Tier 6 talents:
Abomination's Strength - 2 ranks. Your Blood Strikes has 25% (per rank) chance and your Obliterates have a 50% (per rank) chance to increase the total Strength of party members within 45 yards by 10% for 10 sec.
Yup, nice little STR boost. But for some reason it doesn't seem to work all the time as intended currently, well as said it is still beta.
Bloody Vengeance - 5 ranks. Requires Dark Conviction . Gives you 1% (per rank) bonus to Physical and Shadow damage you deal for 30sec after dealing a critical strike from a weapon swing, spell, or ability. This effect stacks up to 3times.
15% damage increase how nice is that?
Blood Rune Mastery - 1 rank. When you hit a diseased targer with a weapon, there is 10% chance that the time it takes for your Blood Rune to activate will be cut in hald for the next 5sec.
Yup faster ruen activation, getting to hit faster, how very nice!
Tier 7 talents:
Infested Corpse 3 ranks. When an enemy grants experience or honor dies while suffering from one of your diseases, its corpse has 10% (per rank) chance of producing 3-5 Bloodworms. Bloodworms attack your enemies, healing you for the amount of damage they deal for 20 sec or until killed.
Yes, you are WORM FARM! Think having 15 of these, each attacking every 3sec healing you for 163- 200... In my humble opinion these are way over powered at given moment and shall be tuned down a lot.
Hysteria - 1 rank. 1 Blood 1 Unholy. Instant. 2min CD. Induces a friendly unit into a killing frenzy for 30sec, increasing their physical damage by 20%, but causing then to suffer damage equal 1% of their maximum health every second.
Lovely little buff for you, your ghoul or party member.
Blade Barrier - 3 ranks. Whenever you have no Runes active, your Parry chance increases 5% (per rank) for the next 8seconds.
Quite useless talent, since you ain't really out of runes at any time.
Tier 8 talents:
Sudden Doom - 5 ranks. Your Blood Strike has 4% (per rank) channce to make your next Death Coil a critical hit and consume no runic power if cast within 10 sec.
Handy little widget that is, death coil does quite nice dmg in the end anyways.
Blood Aura - 2 ranks. While in Blood Presence, when you receive healing from any of your spells or abilities, any party member within 45 yards will also be healed by 50% (per rank) of the ammount.
Wait... What? We are teh healers now too?
Tier 9 talents:
Will of the Necropolis - 3 ranks. Increases your expertise by 4 (per rank). When you have less than 35% health, your total armor increses by 10% (per rank).
Heart Strike - 1 rank. Next Melee. A debilitating attack that causes 100% of your weapon damage and lowers the target's maximum health by up to 20% for 30%
Yup it indeed is as OP as it sounds... when it works that is.
Might of Morgaine - 3 ranks. Increases the critical strike damage bonus of your Blood Strike, Plague Strike and Obliterate abilities by 20% (per rank).
Yup your critical damage bonus talent, and for some reason those are things you use most often.
Tier 10 talents:
Blood Gorged - 5 ranks. When you are above 75% health, you deal 2% (per rank) more damage.
Yup you deal 10% extra damage most of the time!
Tier 11 talents:
Dancing Rune Weapon - 1 rank. 10 Runic Power, Instant, 1min CD. Unleashes all available runic power to summon a second rune weapon that fights on its own for 1sec per 5runic power, doing same attacks as the death knight.
Yup it is nice nifty ability, hurts like hell TBH ![]()
And so it begins!
August 5th, 2008And so starts sleepless nights at my friend's place while he is sleeping (or working)... Leveling up a deathknight, first hero class in world of warcraft. As I am now getting closer and closer the level it is needed to enter in to cold and harsh Northrend, I thought it would be good time to start write my opinions about class, game it self and everything you can possibly fit there. And to start with I apologize if my english ain't best avialable, I still try mmy best to write it so that atleast most of you get what I mean. Without further blabbering, let's get started!
(oh yeah p.s. if you have extra beta key and don't know what to do with it, I am more than willing to make use of it
)
